19th Century Folk Art Paintings of Vesuvius Before & After (sold)
Finally got my hands on some nice Volcano paintings. These are painted on thick wooden slabs, and are unusual for their folkiness. Vesuvius paintings usually come from Italy, but these have a very American quality I think. The before painting almost looks a little Hudson-Rivery.

I’d say the greatest success that I’ve had in my life is that I never have to be around assholes anymore; that’s better than rich. And rich just means you can just afford any book you want without looking at the price. That, to me, is rich.

Rat kings are phenomena said to arise when a number of rats become intertwined at their tails, which become stuck together with blood, dirt, ice, excrement or simply knotted. The animals reputedly grow together while joined at the tails. The numbers of rats that are joined together can vary, but naturally rat kings formed from a larger number of rats are rarer. The phenomenon is particularly associated with Germay, where the majority of instances have been reported. Historically, there are various superstitions surrounding rat kings, and they were often seen as an extremely bad omen, particularly associated with plagues.
I had no idea.

I think I would like a dress in this pattern, if it were small enough.
